2011 ICE LINE PEPSI SHOOTOUT TOURNAMENT
TOURNAMENT RULES
It is the intent of Ice Line to provide a fun and competitive tournament for all of the participants and all of the spectators. Good Sportsmanship is expected of all participants. Improper and abusive behavior will not be tolerated! It is the responsibility of each coach to control his team and exemplify good sportsmanship.
· Pee Wee, Bantam, & Midget Games will have 1st & 2nd periods of 12 minutes with a 15-minute 3rd period.
· There will be no ice resurfaces between periods.
· All games will be played to completion.
· The clock will run during the third period of any game where the goal differential is 6 or more. Stop time will resume only if the goal spread becomes two or less or for injuries.
· This is a USA Hockey tournament. All USA Hockey rules for penalties shall apply.
· Any player receiving four penalties in one game will be ejected from that game. USA Hockey rule is five penalties, but carries a suspension.
· Fighting will not be tolerated and will result in that player being suspended from the tournament.
· Match Penalties will result in expulsion from the tournament.
· USA Hockey rules will govern all tournament play.
· Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget penalties shall be 2 minutes each, Major penalties shall be 5 minutes each, and Misconduct penalties shall be 10 minutes each.
· Teams must be prepared to start 15 minutes before scheduled game time.
· All rosters are frozen at completion of each team’s first game.
Playoff Seeding from Divisional play.
· The top four teams in the PW AA, BN AA, and U16AA will advance to the semi-final round.
· The top two teams per division of the 16 A and U18 AA will advance to the semi-final round.
· By total points. Two points for a Win, One point for a Tie, and No points for a loss.
· Tie Breaker will be as follows:
· Winner of the Head to Head game played between the two tied teams. This tiebreaker does not apply if three teams are tied.
· Best goal quotient. Total goals scored divided by total goals against in the games played between the tied teams. The team with the greatest quotient advances.
· Best total goal quotient. Total goals scored divided by total goals against using ALL games played.
· Lowest goals against.
· Least number of penalties assessed. Each penalty shall count as one team penalty.
Over Time Rules - (Playoff Rounds Only)
· Overtime will be Ten Minutes Sudden Death.
· If no team has scored at the end of overtime, a shootout will take place. Five players will shoot for each team. If still tied at the end of the shootout, the shootout will go into sudden death. All players must be used before a player is allowed to shoot a second time. Once one team has exhausted its players, the player pool will be reset.
