PLAYOFF RULES

  • Three 13 Minute periods. (Same as Regular Season)
  • At any time a team is trailing by 5 or more goals the trailing team MAY request a running clock. The running clock can be stopped by the trailing team after they have scored enough goals to get back down below trailing by five goals.
  • If after regulation play the game is still tied a four minute 4 vs 4 Over Time period will be played. (Teams must have three players on ice. A 2nd Team penalty dropping you below three players is an automatic penalty shot. You can not play 4 vs 2 or 3 vs 2 etc.)
  • If after 1st Over Time period the game is still tied a four minute 3 vs 3 Over Time period will be played. (All penalties dropping you below three players is an automatic penalty shot)
  • If after 2nd Over Time period the game is still tied a five player shoot out shall occur. If still tied after the five shooters an over time shootout will occur. The first shooter through fifth shooter must all be different players, after the five shooter they can be recycled to shoot again or a new shooter can be chosen.
  • To play in playoff a player must have played at least Eight games in our league. (If Joe has played 10 B league games and 4 A games he can play in B league playoff and play up in A+ league playoffs until he has reached his 8th game. Once he plays his 9th game at the upper level he is frozen on the upper team roster and can no longer play for the lower team.
  • Any questions on game counts should come to me and I will check sign in sheets for that team. The computer game count has many errors due to scorekeeper error. Check with me first do not just assume the other team is cheating. - Bud

2010 PLAYOFF'S (updated 3/8 complete)

Please remember the computer expects the higher seeded team to win so it posts that team as the advancing team by default. When I enter the scores of the game the computer program checks for the higher score and will post that team as the advancing (black arrows) team and lower scoring team will drop (red arrows) down to lower level games. The seeding only is used for your first game. If #8 beats #1, #8 will continue following the winning path. I will update the files/playoff grid before I go home each night except friday night and that will be updated Saturday - Bud
