Eric Tangradi Commits to the OHL

June 16, 2006

The Belleville Bulls are pleased to announce that they have signed highly touted 17 year old forward Eric Tangradi. Tangradi was selected by the Bulls in the 6th round, 117th overall of the 2005 OHL Priority Selection but was rated to go much higher in the draft by central scouting.

The Bulls took a chance on Tangradi in the draft as he was highly recommended by their scouting staff and the signing completed an ongoing process of discussions with Eric and his family that lasted 15 months. “Eric had a number of options on the table and we are extremely pleased he chose the Belleville Bulls to continue his hockey and educational progression.” said Bulls General Manager and Head Coach George Burnett.

A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Tangradi played last season with the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers 16U team and at Wyoming Seminary Prep School in Kingston, PA. In 38 games played with Wyoming Seminary, Tangradi scored 21 goals and 23 assists while adding 120 penalty minutes, finishing second on the team in goals, assists, points, and penalty minutes. He also played lacrosse for Wyoming Seminary.

The 6’3.5, 207 pound forward is described as a strong skater with great size and skill. He is also an extremely determined individual who has made significant strides, both on and off, the ice since being selected by the Bulls last year.

Tangradi had participated in the Bulls two previous summer orientation camps and fans will have their next chance to watch him play when training camp opens in August.

Former Jr. Flyers Chris Lawrence named Captain of Michigan State!

East Lansing, Mich. - Senior forward Chris Lawrence (Havertown, Pa.) has been named the captain of the Michigan State hockey team for the 2006-07 season, as announced by head coach Rick Comley on Thursday.
He was the unanimous selection by his teammates to serve as captain, and that is a testament to their confidence in him as a leader." "I'm extremely excited," commented the captain-elect. "This is something I can look at with a lot of pride. It's really a great honor, particularly in a program like Michigan State, to serve as captain. It's extra-special because it comes from a vote of my teammates - the guys you go to battle with every night. To have the confidence from them, it's something I'm really looking forward to. I'm excited to get the season underway."
